ULTRAcel for facial rejuvenation, tightening and lifting
More than five years ago, Hans Place Practice became one of the first clinics in the UK to use INTRAcel for non-surgical skin tightening and rejuvenation. Since we started carrying out non-surgical facelifts and skin tightening procedures using this innovative treatment, countless patients have been thrilled with the great results it has achieved.
Then, in 2015, ULTRAcel was launched. This state-of-the-art treatment is a sophisticated update of INTRAcel, offering patients an even more efficient way of producing facelifts without surgery, as well as neck tightening. Along with the INTRAcel hand piece, which targets the skin with its fractional radio frequency needles, the ULTRAcel uses two additional handheld devices that supply grid radio frequency and ultrasound. Together, these three devices target not only the skin but also the deeper facial and neck soft tissue structures, allowing the ULTRAcel to produce more facial lifting and neck tightening than with the INTRAcel alone.
Extending under the skin from the neck up into the face is a tissue plane known as the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS). As we age, the SMAS becomes less elastic as the collagen and elastin fibres in our skin break down and become less elastic – it’s this that leads to wrinkles, neck folds and sagging jowls. Modern surgical facelifts lift and tighten the SMAS, resulting in a more natural look than the stereotypical, pulled, ‘operated on’ appearance of facelifts from yesteryear.
For those who want a facelift or neck lift without surgery, the ULTRAcel is the ideal non-invasive surgical solution. It uses ultrasound to tighten the SMAS, while the grid and fractionated radio frequency works to rejuvenate the deep layers of the skin. As the handheld devices are passed over the skin, the collagen begins to contract, smoothing out wrinkles and reducing sagging. It is one of the only standalone systems to target the SMAS along with the deep and mid skin layers – and all in one treatment.
Hans Place Practice patients wanting a facelift without surgery or perhaps to tighten neck skin, again using non-invasive surgery, all have an initial consultation with Dr Mike Comins. In these sessions he explains the ULTRAcel skin tightening treatment in greater detail and determines whether this non-invasive facelift is the right treatment for them.
